A professional, personal loft conversion service across Bristol, managed and built in-house from first consultation to final sign-off.
Our founder
Joe Vincent
Joe trained as a joiner over 20 years ago in Stroud, working extensively with oak and other hardwoods, primarily making bespoke windows, doors and staircases. After completing his NVQ Level 3 in Joinery, he moved into site carpentry and spent many years subcontracting across the South West, working on a wide variety of projects ranging from new-build homes to Grade I listed restorations.
Along the way, Joe worked on several loft conversions for other companies and quickly found that he enjoyed the varied nature of the projects. In particular, he liked how a previously unused part of a property could be transformed in a relatively short space of time, creating valuable new living space and bringing a completely new feel to a home.
A complete, well-managed service
After being given the opportunity to take on and manage a loft conversion himself, Joe discovered that he enjoyed the project management and client-facing side of the work just as much as the building itself. This ultimately led him to establish J. Vincent Loft Conversions.
Today, Joe works alongside a close-knit team and brings more than 20 years of experience to every project. His aim is to provide a complete, well-managed service from the initial ideas and planning stages right through to the final finishing touches.
His background in joinery also means particular attention is given to the finer details of each conversion, with bespoke fitted wardrobes, eaves storage and other made-to-measure solutions available where required. The result is a loft conversion that is not only well built and carefully managed, but finished to a standard that Joe and his team can be proud of.
“Joe has built us a beautiful loft extension and fantastic wardrobes, all on time and in budget. Couldn't recommend him enough!”

We used J Vincent Lofts for a kitchen diner extension on our house in Bedminster and couldn’t be happier with the result. Joe was incredibly helpful right from the start and always quick to reply whenever we messaged him with a question or new requirement. We had Ben on-site every day and he was absolutely fantastic; thorough and a pleasure to have around.Being an old-ish 1930s house we uncovered plenty of surprises along the way, and the team took every one of them in their stride. Notably, Joe researched the groundwork that was needed for our specific area and arranged all of that. When any requirements needed changing on the fly they were always accommodating, and importantly they kept us in the loop about any impact on the budget that had been set out at the start. No task was too big, and every trade they brought in was just as thorough and personable.A genuinely great experience from start to finish, super chuffed with the work they did and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable builders in Bristol.

We're very pleased with our kitchen extension that Joe and his team completed in May this year. From the start Joe was accomodating with our plans, working around our schedule and needs which included living at the property durring the works. The design included some custom solutions that the team executed brilliantly and to a high standard. We were recommended Joe by a friend and I will continue to recommend as their work ethic, attention to detail and consideration were exactly what we were hoping for!

We couldn’t be happier that we chose Joe and his team to complete the work on our house. We had a double loft extension which involved reconfiguring the first floor. Joe had a solution for everything to make it all possible. His communication was excellent and his team were friendly, considerate and did an exceptional job. The work has been done to such a high standard and we’re so pleased with the result. If you’re thinking about getting work done on your house, Joe is your man!

Joe and his team did a great job on our loft conversion and 1st floor renovations. Our conversion came with the added complexity of lowering the first-floor ceilings to create enough space for the loft, but Joe took it all in his stride.Throughout the build, Joe was incredibly accommodating when we asked to include additional work, seemingly unfazed by any request and capable of making it a reality. His budgeting and organisation were excellent from start to finish, which no doubt helped us avoid any issues in what was quite an extensive project! It was a pleasure having Joe and his team in our home, they were respectful, hardworking, and clearly took pride in their work. We love the final result; the space has completely transformed our home. We’re planning to renovate our ground floor in the future and wouldn’t hesitate to work with Joe again. Highly recommended.

Great team, high quality build and friendly. Considering the length of the job we were apprehensive to have builders in the house whilst heavily pregnant but the team were friendly and respectful. Very happy with the end result!
