The brief

The owners wanted to make the most of a big loft in their Bishopston (BS7) home, a large master bedroom, a dedicated office, an open walk-in wardrobe and a generous en-suite bathroom.

The challenge

A project this size needed real structural work, and the ceilings below had to be lowered to make the new floor work properly.

What we did

We built the hipped roof out into a full gable end and added the steelwork the size of the space demanded, then laid out a large bedroom, a separate office, an open walk-in wardrobe and a large en-suite bathroom.

The outcome

A very high-quality, genuinely large living space across the whole top floor, one of our biggest conversions.

  • Joe and his team did a great job on our loft conversion and 1st floor renovations. Our conversion came with the added complexity of lowering the first-floor ceilings to create enough space for the loft, but Joe took it all in his stride.Throughout the build, Joe was incredibly accommodating when we asked to include additional work, seemingly unfazed by any request and capable of making it a reality. His budgeting and organisation were excellent from start to finish, which no doubt helped us avoid any issues in what was quite an extensive project!It was a pleasure having Joe and his team in our home, they were respectful, hardworking, and clearly took pride in their work.
